What we do
Bobble & Bean is a small pattern studio. We publish original crochet patterns as instant-download PDFs — mostly amigurumi: soft toys, animals, and seasonal pieces you can finish in an afternoon.
Most of our catalogue is written for beginners and advanced beginners. If you can single crochet in the round and work an increase and a decrease, you can make almost anything we sell.
Who writes our patterns
We commission our patterns from independent crochet designers, and we buy the rights outright. That means every pattern on this site is original work, made for us, that we own and can stand behind — and it means that when something needs fixing, we can fix it rather than pointing you somewhere else.
How our patterns are written
The most common complaint about crochet patterns is always the same: the stitch counts run out, a row does not add up, and the assembly instructions say "sew on the arms" without telling you where. So we set a standard and we do not publish anything that misses it.
Every pattern includes:
- Written instructions, row by row or round by round
- A stitch count at the end of every single row — not most rows, every row
- A materials list with yarn weight, hook size, and approximate yardage
- Gauge and finished measurements, in both centimetres and inches
- Step photographs for the parts that are genuinely hard to describe in words
- Assembly instructions that give the exact round for eye and limb placement
- A clearly marked skill level
And every pattern is crocheted start to finish before it goes on sale. The photographs you see are of that finished piece. If a pattern does not work, it does not go on the site.
If something is wrong
Email us the row number. If we confirm an error, we correct the file and send the updated version to everyone who bought that pattern, free of charge. That is the advantage of owning our patterns outright.
Sell what you make
You may sell finished items you crocheted from our patterns — at markets, online, wherever you like. No limit, no fee, no permission needed. You may not resell or share the pattern file itself. The full terms are on our Pattern License.
